Role Overview

Hands-on builder responsible for fabricating, assembling, and modifying ZiGGY systems in the shop, working closely with engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble mechanical and electromechanical components
  • Perform welding, drilling, cutting, fastening, and general shop work
  • Operate shop tools including drill press, band saws, grinders, and 3-axis drill/mill
  • Use 3D printers for functional parts and fixtures
  • Assist with wiring, cable routing, and mechanical integration
  • Build jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids
  • Provide direct feedback on buildability and fit

Qualifications

  • Hands-on fabrication or electromechanical build experience
  • Welding experience (MIG/TIG preferred)
  • Comfortable reading drawings and following build instructions
  • Strong attention to workmanship and safety
  • Experience working alongside engineers in a build environment
  • Robotics, automotive, and/or aerospace experience preferred

Software Engineer – Full-Stack Systems (Robotics & Infrastructure)

Role Overview

Owns the full ZiGGY software stack, spanning onboard compute, communications, cloud services, mobile applications, payments, and safety logic.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop software running on ZiGGY internal computers
  • Implement control logic, state machines, and safety interlocks
  • Build communications between ZiGGY units, cloud, and apps
  • Develop backend services for fleet monitoring and management
  • Support mobile app functionality and user interaction
  • Implement payment flows and transaction handling
  • Support logging, diagnostics, and remote updates

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience with embedded systems and backend software
  • Comfort working with physical hardware and real-world constraints
  • Strong systems thinking and debugging skills
  • Experience with networking, APIs, and secure communications
  • Robotics, automotive, and/or aerospace experience preferred

Electrical Engineer – Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

Role Overview

Owns electrical system execution for ZiGGY, including power distribution, harnessing, safety circuits, and manufacturable electrical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own electrical DFM/DFA and system architecture
  • Design wiring harnesses, connectors, fusing, contactors, and disconnects
  • Design battery system and integration
  • Design EV charging system and integration
  • Support HV and LV system integration
  • Define grounding, isolation, and safety strategies
  • Coordinate electrical layout with mechanical and software teams
  • Work directly with harness vendors and contract manufacturers
  • Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and ECOs

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with power distribution and electromechanical systems
  • Experience with batteries and charging preferred
  • Strong documentation and manufacturing interface skills
  • Familiarity with safety-critical electrical systems
  • Comfortable supporting live builds and field issues
  • Robotics, automotive, and/or aerospace experience preferred

Mechanical Engineer – Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

Role Overview

Responsible for mechanical execution and manufacturability of ZiGGY. Owns structural design, packaging, enclosures, thermal integration, serviceability, and production-ready mechanical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical DFM/DFA across all ZiGGY systems
  • Design frames, chassis, enclosures, mounts, doors, and panels
  • Package batteries, power electronics, charger, cooling systems, and cabling
  • Optimize designs for cost, tolerance, yield, and assembly
  • Interface directly with fabricators and contract manufacturers
  • Produce drawings, BOMs, tolerances, and ECOs
  • Support builds, field feedback, and corrective actions

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Strong experience with sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, assemblies
  • Advanced CAD skills
  • Experience working directly with manufacturers
  • Comfort owning designs that ship and operate in the field
  • Robotics, automotive, and/or aerospace experience preferred
